Send a message
Write to any member, ask about an item, and keep first messages from people you don't follow in Requests.
Messages are one to one. Only the two of you see them, and you can start one with anyone on MerchVice.
How to do it
- Open Messages and tap New message.
- Under To, search by name or username and pick who it's for.
- Write your message and tap Send.
- Asking about an item? On its page, tap Ask about this, Message the seller or Propose a trade. The message starts with a line about the item, and you can change it before you send.
- Someone you don't follow wrote first? Their message waits under Requests. Reply or tap Accept to move it to your inbox, Ignore to put it away, or Block.
Good to know
- Sending needs a confirmed email.
- Until someone replies or accepts, you can send them a few messages, then wait for their answer.
- Delete your own message from its menu. It's gone for both of you, and they see that a message was deleted.
- Under a message that tries to take a deal off MerchVice, you may see a Safety tip. Keeping it here means we can help if a deal goes wrong.
- Report a message from the ... beside it. Blocking someone ends the conversation both ways.
