Questions about MerchVice

Short answers, no fine print. Still wondering? Write to us and a real person reads it.

What is MerchVice?

The home for band merch. You post the shirts, posters and records you own to your closet, show them off, trade with other fans, and see who else has the one you're after. Every band and every show gets its own page, built from what members post.

What is First Print?

First Print is our first run of members. Each one keeps a founding number on their profile, in the order they joined, for good. When the run is full, the next wave is Second Press, and after that members invite their friends in.

How does the tag dater work?

You photograph a shirt's tag and its stitching. AI reads the tag, and you can fix anything it got wrong. Then we match the clues against a table of known tag details and give you a likely range of years, with every reason and where it comes from. The photos are read and dropped, never kept.

Do bands pay?

No. Claiming your band's page is free. No band can pay to move up a row, and any spot that is ever paid for says Promoted.

Is selling live?

In private beta. A small group of members can sell now. When it opens wider, there is one flat fee, the same for everyone, and you see what you keep before you list. Showing off and trading stay free.

How do I get in?

Get a First Print spot while there are spots left, or get on the list for the next wave. A member can also send you an invite.

Is there an algorithm?

No. Every row on MerchVice says how it's sorted, like newest first or most liked this week. Nobody pays to rank higher.

Does MerchVice share where my photos were taken?

No. We strip the location from every photo before it's stored, and only show a place if you turn that on yourself.
