About
Post the shirts, records and patches you own, follow the people and bands you love, and trade or sell what you're ready to part with.
What's here
All of this is live today. A closet for every member, with each item marked as showing off, open to trade or for sale. Posts, Merch booth shots and "What is this?" questions. A home feed of the members, bands and tags you follow, with likes, comments and messages.
Band pages build themselves from the tags people use, and a band can claim its page to post its own merch and news. Every design has its own page, and a band's merch is listed in one place, by name and by year. Show pages gather the Merch booth shots from the night, and fans can say what the booth has tonight. Search covers bands, items, designs, shows and members, and you can start a search from a photo.
Your page gets a banner, an accent, a profile song and a Top 8. Each item keeps its history as it changes hands. Lost or stolen items go on a public registry, and a person reads every report.
Buying and selling on MerchVice, band stores and drops, and trades with want lists are open to a small group of members first. Buying runs on test payments for now, so no real money moves. Until it opens to everyone, For sale means you and the seller settle it between you.
What's coming
Next, the record of each design gets deeper: the versions of a design and what tells them apart, "Which one is yours?" when you add an item, and a way for members to correct the record. After that, your whole closet in one view, and what each version sold for once buying opens to everyone.
Also coming: bringing your items in from Discogs and other sites, giveaways that any band can run, and the MerchVice apps for iPhone and Android in the app stores.
