Give an item away
Gift it to one member, run a giveaway for it, or sell it, from the item's own page.
When you're ready to pass something on, open it in your closet. As its owner you see up to three ways to let it go: Gift it, Run a giveaway and Sell it. Which ones show depends on the item and on what's open to you right now.
How to do it
- Open the item in your closet.
- To give it to someone you know, tap Gift it. Pick Who it's for, add a note only the two of you see if you like, and tap Offer the gift.
- Once they accept, send it or hand it over. When they tap I've got it, it moves to their closet with its history.
- To let anyone have a chance at it, tap Run a giveaway. Pick How long it runs, 3, 7 or 14 days, and Who can enter: Anyone or People who follow me.
- Check What it's worth, add a note if you like, and check the box to say you have it and will ship it. Then tap Start the giveaway, and share it from the page you land on.
- To sell it instead, tap Sell it. It opens Sell with the item picked.
Good to know
- Run a giveaway can also offer bonus entries, or another way to win, under How winners are chosen. The giveaway's official rules are made for you.
- To run a giveaway you need a confirmed email, an account that's been here a while and a few items in your closet. You can run one at a time and start two in 30 days. If you can't yet, the sheet says why.
- While an item is a prize, it can't be sold, traded or deleted. Its page says which giveaway it's in, and it moves to the winner's closet once it arrives.
- When the winner says yes, their address is on the prize's trade. Ship it by the date shown and tap I've sent it. A prize not marked sent in time brings a strike and a 180-day pause on running giveaways, and a person reviews every one.
- Unofficial items, items marked suggestive, items reported lost or stolen, and items you won in a giveaway in the last 90 days can't be given away in a giveaway. Selling is in private beta, so Sell it shows only for members in it. Gift it shows while trading is open to you.
