Enter a giveaway

1. Find a giveaway on Giveaways, under Open, on a band's page or from a share link. Its page shows the prize, what it's worth, who can enter and when it closes.
2. Tap I'm 18+ and in the US. Enter. If the giveaway is for followers and you don't follow yet, the button reads like Follow Velvet Ash and enter: one tap does both.
3. Not a member yet? Where the page asks for Your email, type it and tap the same button. Pick a username and password, then open the link we email you. Your entry counts once you've confirmed, within 48 hours and before the giveaway closes.
4. Once you're in, look under Bonus entries for anything extra the host offers, like a follow, a comment or an item posted to your closet. Each one is optional.
5. When it closes, the winners are picked by the way the page names under How it's won, and everyone who entered hears the result.
6. Won? Open the giveaway, fill in where to send it under You won, and tap Accept and send it here before the date shown.

• Ways to win: a Random draw gives everyone a chance, and anyone can rerun it with Check the draw once it's drawn. Top by actions goes to the entrants with the most points for things done on MerchVice. First to complete goes to the first entrants to do everything listed. Host's pick goes to the entrant the host picks against what they wrote, and if they don't pick in time, the random draw picks.
• Bonus entries come only with the random draw. Each is worth 1 or 2 more entries, up to the most the page shows. We check each one when the giveaway closes, so undo one before then and it stops counting. Sharing a random draw never earns an entry.
• In Top by actions and First to complete, your username and score show on the giveaway's leaderboard. Actions count only while they're still there and showing, and actions from very new accounts don't score.
• Saying yes opens the prize's trade with the person sending it. Only they see your address. Follow it there with Open the prize's trade, and tap I've got it when it arrives: it moves into your closet with its history. Miss the date to accept and it passes to the next person in line.
• Can't enter? The page says why in place of the button. A confirmed email or a follow are the usual reasons. A host and a band's managers can't enter their own giveaways.
