Trading and selling on MerchVice
Every member can show off and trade. Selling through MerchVice is a private beta for a small group.
Each item in your closet says what it's there for: Showing off, Open to trade or For sale. Change it any time from the item.
How to do it
- To trade, open your item and tap Trade it, or choose Open to trade under What's it here for? on its Edit.
- Fans who want it ask you about it, in a message or a trade offer. You agree on what goes each way, post to each other, and say when yours arrives. No money changes hands.
- To sell to another member yourself, mark the item For sale with an asking price. A buyer messages you and you settle it between you.
- In the selling beta, tap Sell it on your item to list it through MerchVice's checkout. You see what you keep before it goes up.
Good to know
- MerchVice adds members and bands to the selling beta by hand. If you're in it, your items show Sell it, For sale says You can sell, and Settings has a Selling section.
- Not in it? While the beta runs, your items say Selling is in beta. Ask to join. Tap Ask to join and your note goes to the people who run MerchVice.
- Where trade offers are open to you, an item open to trade shows Propose a trade: pick what you'd give from your closet and send it.
- Gift it sends an item to someone you choose, and Run a giveaway lets people enter for it. One wins.
- Swap Sunday is the first Sunday of each month, when members open items for trade all weekend.
- Unofficial items can be shown off, never traded or sold.
- MerchVice's order cover applies to orders paid through its checkout, not to trades or deals settled in messages.
