Shops on MerchVice
For a licensed shop: your page, your products linked to the designs fans post, and what fans click.
MerchVice is starting shop pages with a few licensed band merch shops, by invitation. A shop's page shows the bands it carries and fans' own photos of its items, and each design page a fan opens can show New at your shop, linked to your product page. The sale happens on your own checkout.
How to do it
- MerchVice makes your shop's page and makes you its owner. The next time you open MerchVice, a welcome shows your page, and your home lists six first steps until they're done.
- Open Page and team from your page's Shop tools. Add your logo, a few lines about the shop and your website, then tap Save.
- Under Your team, add up to three people by their username, or by their email at your shop's domain. Someone without an account gets an email, and joins your team when they join MerchVice with that address.
- Open Bring your products. In your Shopify admin, open Products and tap Export. Under Export, pick All products (or Current search, after filtering by vendor); under Export as, pick CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs. Tap Export products. Shopify downloads the file, or emails it for a big store.
- Back on Bring your products, tap Choose the file and pick that file. MerchVice reads it in a minute or two.
- Under Review the matches, each product shows the band and design MerchVice thinks it is. Tap Keep, Change to pick another of the band's designs, or Drop. Keep all strong matches keeps a band's sure ones at once.
- Open your page with See your page. Only your team sees it until MerchVice opens it to everyone; tell us when it looks right.
Good to know
- Only names, bands, types, tags, status and each product's address are read from your file. Prices, stock, SKUs, costs, barcodes and photos are never read or kept, and MerchVice never visits your store. The photos on your page are fans' own.
- A person at MerchVice checks your first 50 kept products before they show to fans.
- Products for bands not on MerchVice yet wait. Each night they're matched again, and new suggestions show in your review.
- Fans who want a design you carry hear New at your shop once. They're sent to the design's page, never straight to your store.
- Numbers shows clicks to your site this month and last, by design and by band, and how many fans want what you carry. Counts only, never names, and any count under five shows as under 5.
- A fan's tap goes through MerchVice to your product page, so it can be counted. MerchVice may earn a commission when a fan buys, and design pages say so.
