MerchVice vs Etsy

Etsy is a shop window. MerchVice is the room behind it: every shirt you own, on its band's page, kept whether or not it's for sale.

Checked October 2026. Every fact about Etsy here comes from its own help, fees and terms pages, each with its source and the day we read it.

The short answer

  1. Etsy is a global marketplace for handmade, vintage and craft goods, where a shop reaches buyers everywhere and pays a fee per listing and per sale.

  2. MerchVice is built for the merch and the fans: a closet for what you keep as well as what you sell, pages for every band and design, trades between fans, and a feed that is newest first with no ad slots in it.

  3. Use both. Keep your shop there; download your listings as a CSV and bring them, photos included, into your closet here.
