MerchVice vs Discogs

Discogs did for records what nobody has done for shirts. MerchVice is that: every design on its band's page, every version filed, and every fan's copy beside it.

Checked October 2026. Every fact about Discogs here comes from its own help, fees and terms pages, each with its source and the day we read it.

The short answer

  1. Discogs is the record collector's database and market: nearly every pressing, your Collection and Wantlist, and thousands of sellers.

  2. MerchVice does the same for merch: every design filed under its band with its versions and every fan's copy, a closet for what you own, a Looking for list, trading between fans, and a feed that is newest first.

  3. Use both. Keep your records on Discogs; export your Collection and Wantlist and bring them here as bands to follow and merch to look for.

Questions

Is MerchVice a Discogs for shirts?

That's the idea. Every design is filed under its band with its versions, and every fan's copy sits beside it. The difference is that fans build it from their own photos, and it's a community as much as a database.

Can I bring my Discogs collection over?

Yes. Export your Collection or Wantlist as a CSV from Discogs and upload it in Imports. You get bands to follow and merch to look for; your records stay on Discogs.

Do you show what an item is worth?

Only real, dated sold prices, and only once a design has enough sales to mean something. Nothing is estimated.

Can I keep records here too?

Yes. Records are an item type with their own details: size, speed, pressing and catalogue number.
