Sponsor and administrator
The sponsor and administrator of "Win a 45th anniversary tee, signed by the band" (the "Giveaway") is MerchVice, Mailing address to be added before launch ("MerchVice"). MerchVice runs the entry list and the draw. Questions about the Giveaway go to hello@merchvice.com.
Prize provider
The Brass Almanac provides the prize and ships it to each winner. The Brass Almanac does not run the draw, cannot see who entered, and cannot choose a winner.
Eligibility
The Giveaway is open only to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older when they enter, who have a MerchVice account with a verified email address, and who follow The Brass Almanac on MerchVice. Following is free. The managers of The Brass Almanac, staff of any company acting for The Brass Almanac on MerchVice, and employees of MerchVice may not enter. One entry per person. An entrant confirms when entering that they are 18 or older and live in the United States; a winner may be asked to show it before a prize is sent.
Dates
The Giveaway opens on October 28, 2026 at 10:38 a.m. UTC and closes on November 9, 2026 at 10:38 a.m. UTC. MerchVice's clock is the official clock. An entry received after the close is not counted.
How to enter
Sign in to MerchVice, open the Giveaway's page and tap the button that says you are 18 or older and live in the United States and enters you; if you don't follow The Brass Almanac yet, the same tap follows it. That is the only way to enter, and it is free. A visitor without an account may give their email address on the Giveaway's page and make a free MerchVice account; their entry counts once they open the link MerchVice emails them, and only if that is before the close.
Bonus entries
This Giveaway offers no bonus entries. Every entrant has one entry.
How winners are chosen
Winners are chosen by a random draw from the eligible entries, as described in Choosing and telling winners.
No purchase necessary
No purchase necessary. A purchase or payment of any kind will not increase your chances of winning. Buying from The Brass Almanac, joining a membership or taking part in a drop never adds an entry or changes the odds.
Void where prohibited
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
Odds
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Prizes and retail value
- 1 x 45th anniversary tee, approximate retail value $30.00.
Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $30.00. Prizes are awarded as described, may not be transferred, and have no cash alternative. If a prize cannot be provided, The Brass Almanac may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
Choosing and telling winners
When the Giveaway opens, MerchVice makes a secret random seed and publishes its SHA-256 hash on the Giveaway's page. At the close the eligible entries are frozen and listed by entry id, and the seed is revealed. Winners are the frozen entries ordered by the SHA-256 hash of the seed, a colon and the entry id, lowest first; the first is the first winner, and so on. Anyone can rerun the draw from the Giveaway's page with Check the draw. Neither MerchVice nor The Brass Almanac can pick a winner by hand. Winners are told on MerchVice and by email.
Claiming a prize
A winner has 7 days from being told to accept the prize and give a shipping address in the United States. A winner who does not accept in time loses the prize, and the next entry in the same draw order wins it. The winner's address is shown only to the manager of The Brass Almanac who ships the prize, and only once the winner accepts. The Brass Almanac has 7 days from the winner's acceptance to send it. The address is deleted after the prize arrives, on MerchVice's usual schedule for trade addresses.
Publicity
A winner's MerchVice username is shown on the Giveaway's page as a winner. No other publicity is required to receive a prize.
Taxes and liability
Each winner is responsible for any taxes on a prize. By entering, entrants agree to these rules and to the decisions of MerchVice, which are final. MerchVice and The Brass Almanac are not responsible for entries that are lost, late or incomplete, or for technical failures, and are released from any claim arising from the Giveaway or a prize, to the extent the law allows. MerchVice may cancel or change the Giveaway if fraud or a technical failure affects its fairness, and will say so on the Giveaway's page.
Winners list
The winners' usernames, the revealed seed and the list of entry ids are on the Giveaway's page after it closes. To ask for the winners list by email, write to hello@merchvice.com within 60 days of the close.
